How? What? Why? Yeah, I know this site looks odd. It's very purple, sorry about that. The idea of it however is that you, yes you reading this, add new links and make BBgossip hot and bubbly! You do this, simply by clicking here. If you don't have a username or password, create a profile here! If you can't be bothered to submit any new stuff, then feel free to comment on those articles already posted. That's basically the idea!
Do I have to have written the article in order to submit the link? Nooooooooo! However, the source should be cited where appropriate when you submit the article. BBgossip is a place for all the news to come together. As long as it's up to date, vaguely interesting, is about Big Brother and hasn't been posted before - there's a good chance it won't be deleted outright. There are too many submissions to include them all, so please don't be offended if your article doesn't make it through.
What's the difference between a normal article, a gossip topic and a running commentary? A normal article is one which has a tag (little picture) of anything other than "Gossip!" or "Running Commentary", and links to an external website with info on the subject of the article's title.
A Gossip is a discussion on a certain topic, which is kept on bbgossip.com.
A running commentary is a daily gossip which contains a couple more features than a regular gossip topic. These are: users can check back for new postings since their last visit, and users can submit 'Live Updates' which are the real goings on inside the house and not just general gossip. These Live Updates can then be filtered out from the other gossip inside the running commentary, by selecting the "Show live updates only" link.
Why does an article I submit not show up straight away? All articles go into a submission queue which the moderators access, in order to filter any bad eggs amongst the good. We also all get emailed whenever something new happens, so you can be sure if you submit something 1000 times in the hope it'll be posted, we'll probably not post it, out of spite :)
Can I suggest a new tag/feature? Of course! Suggest away.
How can I stand out from the crowd here? Bragging is good. If your member id (shown in your profile) is low, or you have a high comments/article post count, you can earn virtual brownie points (in your head and nowhere else).
Can I be a moderator? Yes and No. The backend system is solid, but you must realise I would have to trust you to not go round trashing articles or deleting people! So if you have any real experience of clicking things responsibly, have some spare time, and are literate - email me and we'll see.
This site sucks donkey balls It can do, if loads of people are refreshing the comments at the same time, or it can sometimes just look a bit rubbish. Forgive me! I'll make it better one day!
